To the Family of Christiane Rösch
I write as representative of the International Society for Transference Focused Psychotherapy and as a friend and colleague of Christiane. We send you our sincere condolences on the loss of Christiane.
Christiane was a member of our TFP community for many years. She participated in our efforts to help people suffering from personality disorders from the very start of the organization. She infused a gentle and caring dedication into all her work. She worked very hard but it often did not seem like work because she carried it out with such love.
Any contact one had with Christiane brought a palpable warmth. In TFP, we emphasize the power of nonverbal communication. Christiane's discreet smile established an empathetic contact in every encounter. Her warmth was equaled by her commitment - to her friends and colleagues, and to her patients.
She worked tirelessly and provided a unique blend of experience and wisdom in the area of group TFP. It will take us in the TFP community time to adjust to the shock of her loss. We have especially warm memories of the welcoming hospitality that she, along with Gerhard Dammann and Bernhard Grimmer, showed us when that wonderful trio of colleagues, of which we have now lost two, hosted the first ISTFP Conference on Supervision in Münsterlingen in 2019.
As we adjust to the sad reality of the loss of Christiane, we will try to channel her commitment and wisdom as we carry on as best we can without her irreplaceable effort.
